Non-chemical control

Physical removal

Fennel can be grubbed out, but all root material needs to be removed to stop re-sprouting from root fragments.
Slashing can be used before and over the flowering period to reduce fennel seeding.

Chemical control

Use herbicides in accordance with label. Refer to APVMA permit PER13160 where herbicide is to be used in non-cropping and bushland areas

Application method

1. Boom spraying

  • Stage of growth - Actively growing immediately prior to flowering
  • Location - Pasture and non-cropping
  • Suggested herbicide - Amitrole T ®, Garlon ™600

2. Spot spraying
